Pioneering New Therapies for the Treatment of Heart Disease

More than 81 million people live with heart disease in the United States.
Many of them will benefit from interventional procedures developed or refined by the Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF) . . . .

Still others will have their lives transformed by technologies that are only now emerging and being studied and perfected here before becoming available to patients.

Since its inception in 1991, CRF has played a major role in realizing dramatic improvements in the lives of patients by establishing the safe use of new technologies, drugs, and therapies in interventional cardiovascular medicine.

Guided by visionary physicians who are passionate about advancing the field, CRF is dedicated to discovering and developing innovative therapies to improve the survival and quality of life for those suffering from heart disease around the world.

CRF’s role in interventional cardiovascular medicine is unique: conducting research on therapies, pharmacology, and devices during the earliest stages of development, confirming safety and efficacy in human clinical trials, and educating the medical community regarding appropriate use of these new procedures and technologies.

By providing research, evaluation, and education under one roof, CRF has a unique ability to generate important research questions, test and refine groundbreaking new therapies, and ensure that these treatments are available to patients at the earliest opportunity.

CRF carries out its mission by following three basic principles:

    Investigate

The Jack H. Skirball Center for Cardiovascular Research (SCCR) at CRF is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to the investigation of novel concepts, treatments, and devices. Our team of interventionalists, surgeons, and pathologists guide early ideas and inventions through comprehensive research programs in order to introduce practical clinical therapies to patients.

    Evaluate

CRF's Clinical Trials Center (CTC) plans and executes clinical investigations from first-in-man studies to large, multicenter international trials and provides expert, independent qualitative and quantitative analyses of clinical and imaging data.

    Educate

CRF is committed to educating health care professionals and the public to ensure that the work of physicians and researchers is translated to improved care for patients with cardiovascular disease. With a worldwide reputation for excellence in training clinical practitioners in advanced techniques and innovations, CRF conducts more than 50 educational meetings, conferences, and teaching symposia annually including CRF’s annual scientific symposium, Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT).

    CRF is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
